Volunteer Opportunity Update: Spring and Summer 2010

VSA arts is a non-profit organization that connects people with disabilities to the arts. In order
to make our programs possible, we rely on wonderful people like YOU who volunteer your
time and abilities to encourage the growth of artists with special needs. Below you will find
our volunteer opportunities for Spring and Summer, 2010. Thank you for giving VSA a hand!

ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITIES ON-GOING OPPORTUNITIES

Early Childhood Night at Frederik
Meijer Gardens: This night of art and
family fun will take place at on Thursday,
April 15 from 6:00-8:00pm.
Art Activities for Young Adults: On Sat-
urday, April 17 from 7-9:00 at Calvin Col-
lege, VSA will be bringing art activities to
a group of young adults with disabilities.
Festival Day 2010! Come for a day of fun
and art at Lincoln Campus on Friday,
May 7 from 8:30-2:00pm
A Very Special Choir: students aged 16+
meet each Thursday from 12:30-1:30pm at
Kuyper College (333 East Beltline NE).
Graduated Art: Art Explosion! Survey art
class held at VSA arts (300 Ottawa) for
adults. Monday nights 6:30-7:30. Contact
Katie for specific dates.
Graduated Art: Photography!
8 week photography class for adults at
VSA arts (300 Ottawa). Tuesday afternoons
from 4:00-5:00pm, June 22-August 9.

Runway on Monroe: VSA will be in
charge of the beer tent at this exciting
fashion event on Saturday, May 15 from
6:00-10:00pm. Volunteers are needed to
collect tickets, check IDs, help clean up
and of course, pour beer!
Early On Bright Beginnings at Frederik
Meijer Gardens: VSA will be providing art
activities for children and their families
on Wednesday, May 19 from
5:00-7:30pm.
VSA Summer Camps: VSA will be hosting
summer camps the weeks of July 12 and
July 19. Contact Katie if you’re interested
in helping in any way.
UPCOMING EVENTS AT VSA
May 13, 2010: Legacy Trust Collection at
Civic Theater, Public Voting 12:00-5:30pm!
November 4, 2010: Opening reception for
VSA Exhibit at Forest Hills Fine Arts Center
