Hitch (2005)

PG-13 118 min

Starring Will Smith & Eva Mendes

This movie is focused on Alex Hitch Hitchens (Will Smith) a professional at

matchmaking who gives men tips on dating their dream woman. In the film it
focuses on his client Albert (Kevin James) and his love interest Allegra (Amber
Valentine) along with Alexs love life with Sara (Eva Mendes). Albert begins dating
Allegra with the help of Hitch; meanwhile, hitch is falling desperately in love with
Sara. Conflict begins to arise because Sara is ignorant towards Hitchs career with
matchmaking. Hitch also provides some great lessons and morals as he refuses to
work with a man who isnt in it for love and only sex.
The movies soundtrack and lighting are admirable and fit the plot, theme, and
mood perfectly. The comedy in the film flows well with the script and shouldnt be
considered as cheesy or out of place, it also highlights Will Smith incredibly. Will
usually plays a comedic role that have a deep meaning such as his role in The
Pursuit of Happyness, so this film was right up his alley. The movie falls into the
category of basic romantic comedy, but is blown out of the park by Smith and James
who are both masters at all kinds of comedy.
The choice of actors fits well with plot to the movie and their personalities
complement each other phenomenally. The director and casting crew made

excellent decisions with the cast because their relationships seem completely
natural and not forced.
The director, Andy Tennant, is known for his romantic comedies, and this one did not
disappoint.
