The Voice of
the People is
Ignored

Synopsis:
The idea of building the Keystone XL pipeline has been just that, an idea, for a great long
while. The decision ultimately falls to 5 main players: The White House, Congress, the US
Courts, the State Department, and finally, to TransCanada. Despite all these big players in the
decision, perhaps the biggest player of it all, the Canadian and American people have little to no
voice on the matter, despite how the decision will further impact each countrys economy.
In my opinion, the voice of the people should be taken into the greatest account, alongside
that of the government office, and in this situation, it has been essentially ignored. Democracy
revolves around listening to the voice of the majority, and this time, the majority has been
forgotten.
