Lab#5: Calibration of Force transducer and Accelerometer

MEEM 4701
By Adit Manurkar
Calibration factors for Accelerometer are
1. For the calibration of accelerometer (Model 356A33 SN: 33199), amplitude was varied
keeping with constant frequency. The table is shown for the sensitivity values(in mV/g)
for accelerometer:

For the model, I used model has sensitivity as 10mV/g. We got the values in range of
+3% error. The calibration factor which is sensitivity of the accelerometer depends on the
g value which is amplitude, also it depends upon the frequency of the input signal.
It also depends on the mounting technique for the accelerometer. The tight gap between
the accelerometer and the pad gives us the better accuracy for sensitivity values.

2. For the force transducer, calibration factor depends on the mass on the force transducer,
also it depends on the g value we have. For the different frequency values, the
sensitivity remains same.

The sensitivity is calculated for each mass with mV/N values. The values we get comes
around 2.5mV/N. I can say it is valid as for the different mass I got the same values
irrespective of the g values and frequency values. These two are the calibration factors
as I mentioned earlier, Hence I considered them to be valid.
