TRAFFIC STUDIES IN UITM PULAU PINANG CAMPUS OEL, LEVEL 3

PREAMBLE

Introduction
Traffic study is an important tool to assess the condition of the existing traffic
facilities. The outcomes of this study can be used to identify the necessary
measures to reduce traffic congestion, and to maintain and improve safety.
Objectives
The objective of this study is to evaluate the traffic condition in the campus
and its effect to the quality of teaching and learning activities in the campus.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this activity, the students should be able to:
1. Select a standard procedure in traffic data measurement and conduct
the study on the site.
2. Analyze and present the results of traffic data obtained in the study.
3. Produce technical report (Video & Poster)

Rapid development in the UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang campus has

contributed to the traffic related problems such as congestion, noise and
safety in few part of road stretches in the campus. Few cases of road
accidents and complaints regarding the noise from vehicles have been
reported to the campus management.
The campus management has appointed your firm to conduct a traffic
assessment in order to solve this problem.

Prepare a video (length between 10-20 minutes) to present your study.
In necessary, prepare a poster to show relevant data.
