To whom it may concern,

I am a teacher at Providence Christian School in Monarch, Alberta. We are a
K-12 school with 110 enrolled students. I have known Allison for four years
and have recently had the opportunity to work with her in the classroom.
Allison taught the grade 5 Mathematics unit on Probability in May and June of
2015. She planned lessons, taught the lessons, helped students with their
classwork and graded their work. Allison also worked one-on-one with
students who were struggling in Language Arts classes with understanding
terms and concepts.
She was quick to determine student strengths and weaknesses when
presenting new material. The students respected her and demonstrated
awareness and understanding of new concepts she taught. For instance, she
helped a student understand long division by approaching the concept from
a different angle. Allison showed initiative and noticed when other tasks in
the classroom needed attention. Allison was a reliable, hard-working, and
enthusiastic volunteer in the classroom and her presence will certainly be
missed.
Besides working with students, Allison also built positive relationships with
staff at the school. She shared her ideas for material being taught and was
willing to try different methods of instructing students. Any school and
classroom would be fortunate to have Allison as a staff member and
instructor.
I am happy to provide further information if required.

Sincerely,
Lydia Van Herk
