ž  The Chorus, or narrator, says that in this play, two families, both alike in dignity, live
in the city of Venora, Italy. Two members from these families will take their Love.

  Two Capulet servants, Sampson and Gregory, pick a fight with two Montague servants,
including Abram, who does the talking. Balthasar, a Montague, tries to break up the fight, but
Tybalt, a Capulet sees him with his sword drawn and forces him to fight. Soon, many people
from both families are fighting in the streets. The Prince Escalus stops the fight. He says that the
families have disturbed the peace ____________________ times, and the penalty for fighting
from now on will be ____________________. After the fight, ____________________ asks
____________________ to find out what is wrong with his son, ____________________,
who as been acting strangely, crying, sighing, going off by himself, and locking himself in his
room. ____________________ finds out that ____________________ is in love, but the
woman (Rosaline) he loves does not feel the same way about him. ____________________ ¶s
advice to Romeo is to ´____________________ other ____________________µ in order to
get over his love for the Rosaline.

  Juliet is not quite 13 years old. In ____________________ more years, her father
plans to have her marry ____________________, a relative of the Prince. Capulet is holding a
____________________, and he invites ____________________ to compare his daughter to
other women there. He gives a guest list to the servant, but the servant does not know how to
____________________. When the servant asks ____________________ and

to show up so Romeo can compare ____________________, the woman he loves, to the other
women.

  Juliet·s nurse talks to Juliet·s Mother (her mother) and the nurse (the woman who
raised her). Juliet·s mother tells her that County Paris wants to marry her. Both older women
think he is wonderful, but Juliet says she will wait and see what he is like for herself.
