Feminism
I believe everybody should be a feminist. Feminism is the belief that women and men
should both have equal rights and opportunities. Feminism has always caught my attention. I believe that
no matter what gender you are you should be treated equal and be able to feel free of whom you want to
be. There are many different examples on how feminism plays the role today; women do not have the
same equal treatment as men do. There are 5 major concepts adapted to feminism. These concepts are
economically, emotionally, discrimination, patriarchy and gender stereotypes. Why is it that a woman gets
paid less for working the same job as a man? This is a great example of discrimination and unfair
treatment by the law. The Equal Pay Act of 1970 is what allows women to get unfair pay. Economically
when a woman is married she is expected to stop working and fully depend on the husband to work and
pay everything. Society makes woman feel like were worth less than men. Women are also expected to
handle the emotional work when it comes to the family, aside from house duties while men are the ones
providing money and food on the table for the families. Why do people look so down on woman?
Anything a man can do a woman can do. A woman should not have to feel like they are limited and
cannot receive the same equal rights and opportunities as a man. I support feminism because I hate
hearing but youre a woman to any future decisions I have. Feminism should be represented more and
also have more woman represent independency.
