Mr, Fowler is currently serving as the Assistant Principal at Eastern Elementary School in Washington County, Maryland. Eastern Elementary is an intermediate elementary school serving students in grades 3-5. As an assistant principal, Mr. Fowler has the opportunity to work with both professional educators and students. When working with students, Mr. Fowler maintains a focus on improving student academic achievement and social/emotion growth. He supports the teachers’ efforts of providing rigorous classroom instruction while continuing to promote adult learning through meaningful professional development opportunities. Mr. Fowler has been an integral component in the implementation of Eastern Elementary’s Response To Intervention student support efforts focusing on Tier J, II, and {II instruction, intervention, and supports. He consistently works with teachers and staff to identify individual student needs and helps to develop a plan moving forward to promote student achievement. Mr. Fowler has also been a key staff member in the implementation of the FAME (Formative Assessment for Maryland Educators) program at Eastern Elementary. This program focuses on the design, development, and implementation of formative assessments in which teachers use to evaluate their students and to inform future instruction. Mr. Fowler has experience as a classroom teacher, Student Achievement Specialist, and administrator. Itis obvious that he utilizes all these experiences to support the advancements of students and teachers. Mr. Fowler has my support for receiving this recognition and I look forward to continued leadership in Washington County Public Schools.
