9 July.
Known for his photo collages and paintings of Los
Angeles.
David Hockney is considered one of the most
influential British artists of the 20th century.
David Hockney attended art school in London
before moving to Los Angeles in the 1960s.
In the 1970s, Hockney began working in
photography, creating photo collages he called
joiners.
By the mid 1970s, he had all but abandoned
painting in favor of projects involving photograph.

David creates his work by
using a technique called
joiners he chooses something
he wants to photograph and
takes lots and lots of photos
until he captured each bit that
he wants to making up the
picture. He then uses
Photoshop to put his photos
together which creates a
collage affect. This is an
