Event offers advice for the crisis of sleep deprivation

NICQUEL TERRY @NTERRYAPP

RED BANK Nearly everyone in the room wanted

one thing: more sleep.
They came from all over the Shore area on Saturday
to hear from sleep experts during The Power of an
Hour, hosted by the Asbury Park Press and Meridian
Health.
Nearly 200 people filled the Oyster Point Hotel ballroom, where they learned about lifestyle changes that

could help them sleep better and the health risks involved with sleep deprivation.
Many attendees complained of similar sleep issues
such as waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep or only being able to sleep for
a couple of hours.
Gale Stein, 68, of Holmdel, said she has noticed that
with age, it gets harder for her to get a full nights rest.
