How to get there

The bus stop
is right
behind the
apple store!

When you
get off the
bus you are
there. Its
not much to
look at but
the food is
good.

history
First Greeks arrived in Chicago as ship captains in
the 1840s but progressed over the years from
food peddlers to restaurant owners.
Greektown was originally located around the
Harrison, Blue Island and Halsted area but was
displaced in the 60s due to the Eisenhower
Expressway and the University of Illinois at
Chicago.
Chicagos Greektown introduced gyros and
saganaki (flaming cheese) to the country as a
whole and because of this the Taste of Greece
summer festival is renowned.

reflection Aura
Even though I believe Greektowns
location could be more accessible,
the area is very food industry
based that holds a traditional and
cultural atmosphere which is truly
unlike any other part of Chicago.

reflection patrick
From someone who never really left the
comfort of his backyard, I thought it was
really cool to see the food and cultural
norms of other parts of the world...even if it
still was in my backyard.

reflection stacey
I thought that Greektown was
really cool but I did picture
it to look a lot different then I
thought.I thought it was fun to
explore Greektown especially
trying all the different desserts!

reflection molly
It was a fun adventure but I dont think I will be going back to
Greektown any time soon as there are still so many more places to
explore in the city. The desserts were amazing though!
