Professional Experience

Conduct bathymetric surveys with multibeam and sidescan sonar, process bathymetric
data, and conduct analysis on bathymetric data. Also map coastal high tide using GPS.

Volunteer GIS Technician

Created boundary polygons of recreational abalone fisheries sites for the Department of
Fish and Wildlife. Used model builder to develop methodology for creating sites.

Created predictive Kriging models of cellphone coverage of state of CA. Determined the most
accurate model with statistical analysis (with R). Created Python scripts to automate processes.

Promoted, managed, facilitated, hosted events and activities for MARINE events and activities. In
addition, I recruited professionals for MARINE events and activities.
Helped students understand fundamental concepts of geographic information systems
(GIS). As well as troubleshoot computer problems and software issues.

Coordinator of the Spring 2014 Graduate Seminar Series

Directed and lead graduate seminar series at California State University of Monterey Bay. This
included organizing and promoting events, and managing a team of graduate students.

Oceanographic/Lab Technician

Led collection of zooplankton samples and supported collection of hydrographic data


and water samples at sea. Sorted samples of euphausiids for sex, age, and size.

MATE Intern

Conducted CTD surveys aboard the USCG Healy in the Beaufort and Chukchi Sea.
Helped coordinate sample collection from rossettes and maintained the CTD.

Mapping Sea Surface Trends offshore Northern California

Examined sea surface water trends 8 km offshore California using GIS, satellite imagery and
linear regression.
Analyzing volumetric change in the Monterey Submarine Canyon
Collected, processed, and analyzed bathymetric data from the Monterey Canyon using
Multibeam Sonar and various forms of software (ArcMap, CARIS HIPS and SIPS, and
Adobe Illustrator).
