Southeast Fisheries Science Center MPS Intern Miami FL. Summer 2018. Dr. Mandy Karnauskas
Constructed a model of birder “migrations” to the Gulf of Mexico as an ecosystem indicator. Resulted in R
code used by NOAA for ecosystem assessments.

Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science Research Assistant; Miami FL. 2018. Dr. David Die
Collected inputs for an Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE) model and assisted in designing maps and writing
descriptions for the Pulley Ridge Project website.

South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Research Intern Eastover SC. 2017. Dr. Jim Bulak
Processed and analyzed White Perch otoliths for a state-wide growth curve and assisted on the Black
Crappie stock assessment. Intermittently assisted Clemson lab with small river electrofishing surveys.

Downeast Institute Research Intern Beals ME. Summer 2016. Dr. Phil Yund
Dissected and analyzed Blue Mussel gonads for a model of mussel dispersion in the Gulf of Maine.
Collected depth profiles and current maps on a small vessel.

Baruch Marine Field Lab Research Assistant Georgetown SC. Summer 2014. Dr. Blaine Griffen
Conducted quadrat surveys of marsh crabs at the North Inlet-Winyah Bay NEER to assess spatial
reproduction trends. Dissected crab gonads and completed gut content analysis.

Baruch Marine Field Lab Research Assistant Georgetown SC. Summer 2013. Dr. Erik Smith
Developed calibration curves for a newly manufactured Dissolved Organic Carbon meter for YSI.
Completed insitu and laboratory testing on chlorophyll, turbidity, and DOC.

Outreach Experience
U.S.A. Delegate at International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna 2017-2023.
Attended 10 ICCAT meetings as a USA delegate to contribute to the conversation of global scientists
working on tuna. I have been an official reportuer at 6 of those meetings.

President/Treasurer of the Marine Science Graduate Student Organization Miami FL. 2017-2022.
Organized events for the RSMAS campus to foster self-improvement and community involvement.

Co-Leader of the Student Auction Committee Miami FL. 2018-2022.


Raised $17,000 for student travel fund by hosting the 2019 Student Auction.

Introduction to Marine Geographic Information Systems Teaching Assistant, Fall 2019


Taught a section of 15 graduate students the basics of ArcGIS Pro. Taught weekly lab sessions with the
professor present, assisted with troubleshooting during the professor lectures, graded weekly demos,
exercises, and homework plus one final project, and hosted 1 hour of office hours per week.
