Campaign slogan
Ted Cruz currently uses "Reigniting the Promise of America" as his campaign
slogan. It is a common slogan theme but it makes sense for Cruz to use it because
of where hes from. Cruz is a Senator from Texas so it is an obvious allusion to the
oil industry and a call to his constituents. Also, Cruzs father made his money in the
oil industry, so it ties into his background. I would strengthen his slogan by avoiding
the word promise. Most voters accuse their representatives of making false or
empty promises. By changing promise to excellence, we can make the same point
and remove the negative association. Reigniting American Excellence is a much
more moving call to action.
Biography story
Ted has been a tireless fighter for liberty because his family knows what it is
like to lose it. Teds father, Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, fled from Cuba to chase the
American dream. In 1957 he received a temporary visa to attend the University of
Texas at Austin. After completing his degree program he moved to Canada in order
to make his way in the oil industry. Years later he returned to the United States and
officially became an American citizen.
Teds mother was the child of Irish and Italian immigrants. She grew up in a
working class family in Delaware. She received her education from Rice University,
and went on to become a computer programmer as the industry began to take off.
Ted Cruz comes from a hardworking family who has made their way by chasing the
American dream.

Values
1. The American Dream
Ted Cruz is a champion for the American dream. He is a major advocate of legal
immigration, and takes a strong stance on border control. When we faced
oppression in Cuba, I had a place to flee to. If we lose our freedom here, where do
we go? His family credits the American dream for their success, and his campaign
and his policy views have revolved around that motif.
2. Small Government

Like many conservative candidates Ted Cruz supports a small federal government.
He opposes Obamacare and wants to see it repealed. Cruz wants to cut
government spending on welfare in order to improve the economy. He has fought to
create jobs in the Oil industry, providing work for his constituents.
3. National Security
Cruz is a major advocate for Second Amendment rights and has an A+ rating with
the NRA. He believes that personal safety is a guaranteed right provided by the
Constitution. Cruz has criticized the Obama administrations nuclear deal with Iran,
saying it is far too lenient to protect the interests of Americans.
On the issues
Iran
Cruz criticizes the Iran nuclear deal for being too lenient. He believes that
the nuclear development plants in Iran should be shut down and the enriched
uranium should be removed from the country. Cruz has publicly stated that the Iran
deal will help facilitate and accelerate nuclear armament.
Gun control
Ted Cruz has received an A+ rating from the NRA due to his support of
Second Amendment rights. He has fought gun control legislation in his home state
of Texas and speaks to the values of his constituents with his policy on gun control.
Immigration
Cruz takes a strong stance against illegal immigration. He proposes that we
put more troops on the border and suggests that we build a wall to keep illegal
immigrants out.
