SSC CGL PAPER PATTERN FOR TIER 1

Tier 1 is of 200 marks and comprises of four sections :

General intelligence & reasoning


Quantitative aptitude
General awareness
English

Each section has 50 questions all bearing 1 mark. Every incorrect answer 0.25 marks from your score.
The exam is not considered to be a difficult one but it is important for us to analyse previous year papers and find
out the breakup of questions. This will help you to find out which area needs more practice and time and thereby
you can plan out your study schedule.

CONCLUSION: You can see that the pattern changes every year and you cannot leave any topic. Focus more on
Geography and Science as the Commission asks too many questions from them and if you have not studied
well these two subjects you can not excel in General Awareness section.

CONCLUSION: From the above table you can see that a number of questions are asked from profit and loss,
trigonometry and geometry, you will be able to score somewhere at least 20 to 25 marks. Practice these
chapters thoroughly.

CONCLUSION:In this section you cannot focus on one thing and ignore other. All the sections are equally
important and need practice speed. This section is easy to score but takes time in figure solving
questions.Learn tricks for solving these questions that ways you will be able to save time.

CONCLUSION : Make it a habit to learn new words daily. Read newspapers and magazine. Practice
comprehension and unseen passage given in model test papers and previous year papers. This section is
comparatively easy and does not take much time in attempting.
