Outline below, what will take place on each day and who is responsible for the lesson plan!

Day 1: Intro/ Discuss Regions


Responsible: Victoria Mcgill
Sing Fifty Nifty United States
Read The Everything Kids States Book: Wind Your Way
Introduce the five regions of the United States: Northeast, Southeast,
Midwest, Southwest, West

Day 2: States
Responsible: All group members
Finding area of a rectangle
Show map of the United States to students and ask them where they have
been
Find which state is the biggest
Rotate students through five different stations: Northeast, Southeast,
Midwest, Southwest, West

Day 3: Capitals/ Landmarks


Responsible: Kaitlyn Dunn
Using Google maps to show students Florida and its capital
Students will separate into five different stations where they will identify
different landmarks from each regions
Students will use Google Maps on Interactive White Board to pinpoint their
locations and where they have traveled

Day 4: Climates
Responsible: Glisairis Depena
Students will use Interactive White board to adjust climates to see different
weather patterns
Students will be separated into five different stations to see the different
climates of the United States: Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest,
West
Each station will vary: Hands on activities, reading stations, use of the ipad

Day 5: Resources/ Review


Responsible: Taylor Reese / Whole group
Students will be separated into different stations where they learn about
different resources from each region
Students will use their folder accordion and list their findings about each of
their regions
Students will review this weeks lesson by having them play the states game
Note (bullet) technology use below: *iPads
