The Colosseum

It is placed in the center of Rome, it is one of

the main Italian monuments

The Colosseum has got 4 floors , three of them were with

arches. In each arch there was a statue. It is large 156 meters
and 48 meters high. There were 80 entrances

The Colosseum is also well known as

amphitheater Flavio. It is the biggest of the
world.
The Emperor Vespesiano ordered to build it in 72
A. C. and it was finished by his son, Tito in 80 A.C.

It could host from 50.000 to 75.000 people

and in one part it was cover to protect from the
sun.

It was used for the Gladiators shows with wild

animals or with Roman slaves.
