WHO WAS GALILEO GALILEI?


Galileo Galilei was an Italian
physicist , philosopher ,
astronomer and
mathematician. He is
considered the father of
modern science. Galileo
Galilei was born in Pisa on
February 15th 1564 , and died
on January 8th 1642

WHICH INSTRUMENTS DID HE USE ?


He did is discoveries with the telescophe. On October
2nd 1608 the States General of Holland supported
Galilei s request for <<a device for observing
distance>>. Galileis telescophe was
boosted by a Dutch spectacle maker called
Sacharias Janssen.

Galilei wrote a book named The dialogue over the two highs systems of the world
where he talked about the distinction between the celestial and terrestial worlds.

The action of Galileo Galilei , a supporter of the Copernican heliocentric theory of the motion of

celestial bodies in opposition to the geocentric theory , supported by the Catholic Church , began in
Rome 12th April 1633 and ended on June 22nd 1633. He was condemned for heresy.
