Queen of the Baltic Sea

Long, long time ago there was a queen of the Baltic sea. Her name was Jurata. She
lived in amber palace at the bottom
of the sea. She loved all the sea
creatures.
One day her servants told her that
one young fisherman was catching
too many fish. Jurata wanted to
punish him. She swam to the surface
of the sea. She saw the fisherman in
his boat and she fell in love. The fisherman also fell in love with Jurata.
They met every day. Their love flourished, but it did not last long. Perkun, the God of
Thunder, found out about their love and he got angry. He destroyed her amber palace
with a lightning, burying the queen under it. Then he tied the fisherman to a rock on
the bottom of the sea, where he had to look at the ruins of Juratas palace.
Until today the wind carries the fishermans moans and the sea throws pieces of the
amber palace on the Baltic beaches.
