Dear Dr. Justin Thurman:
Thank you for taking the time to read my portfolio. This portfolio is a way to demonstrate the accomplishments I have had with my writing throughout the semester. Coming into college, I was accustomed to the standard high school writing, which was comprised of a 5 paragraph entry. Now, I have learned how to use the 6 part oration to my advantage, and write papers that not only get the readers attention, but keep their attention. For my portfolio, I chose to deliver my pieces through the website Weebly.com. On Weebly, you are allowed access to completely design your own website. You can add documents, videos, text, spacers, and many more. They layout of my website is very self-guided, allowing easy access to each piece I attached. This portfolio is a way to see the growth in my writing this semester. Like I mentioned earlier, I came into school with a very set way of writing. I found myself struggling to break free from the strict guidelines I had always been taught. Through each paper, I have seen a progression of getting away from the 5 paragraph essays. From peer-reviews to A Writers Reference, I have figured out my own style of writing. I hope you enjoy going through my portfolio. I am very proud of the work and cannot wait to see the progression of my writing skills throughout my college career.
