Defining the typical

audience member

Kerrang!
Kerrang! Is one of the most popular rock magazine released weekly. This magazine appears to be
aimed specifically at a unisex teenage/ young adult audience due to the music genres they cover.
They tend to interview popular alternative, metal and pop punk bands such as All Time Low and
Paramore. These bands are mainly listened to young alternative teenagers often known as scene
kids and punks. This magazine is aimed for the younger part of group E and up to C2 specifically
students. This magazine is read by all types of nationalities, however some religious people may
not listen to the mentioned music genres meaning they wont read the magazine due to some of
the content in the music such as swearing, violence and drugs. Due to the magazine mainly being
read by people who are students they tend to have qualifications only up to a levels however some
may have an undergraduate degree.

Emmerdale
Emmerdale is a popular British soap opera broadcasted daily on ITV and its
related channels such as ITV + 1. This programme is generally watched by
group E to group C2 for students and unemployed citizens. Fans of other
current soap operas such as EastEnders and Hollyoaks tend to watch
Emmerdale. Some of the content involved with the show may be difficult to for
viewers to watch and those who watch it are for people who arent an
interested in politics and have the lower end of qualifications including GCSES
and less. Those that live in the UK have access to the show.

Loose Women
Loose Women is a well known British panel show that
focuses on several discussions revolving around
different topics ranging from human interest stories to
celebrity gossip. Due to the airing time of this
programme being quite early, the audience who view
this show depends on who is available to watch the
programme. This is mainly those who are in Group E. A
predominantly female audience, who are unemployed/
housewives. This is for those that may seem less
interested in serious news (political/ current affairs) but
would rather find out more celebrity gossip and/ or
lifestyle.
