Artifact:

Summary:
The 4 cell junctions are gap, tight, desmosomes, and plasmodesmata.
Plasamodesmata only occurs in plants, and it consists of cell wall
perforations that allow water and solute passage in plants. Tight junctions

are a fusion of neighboring cells, and they prevent cell leakage.

Desmosomes are like rivets, and they are very strong sheets of cells. Finally,
Gap junctions are cytoplasm channels which allow passage of currents or
materials between cells. Ex: 2.B.1:c1-2, 2.B.3:a-c, 3.D.2:a, 4.A.2:a,b12,c1,d1-3,e,f,g1-3, 4.B.2:a1

Reflection:
The pathology project and this artifact were very important in helping
the students understand more about cell structure and function, and how
small genetic changes in an organelle can affect the well being of the whole
cell. I would like to study more about cell diseases, and how they affect the
body. I still struggle with naming all the organelles, and telling whether they
are prokaryotic or eukaryotic.
