Artifact:

Summary:
If an animal cell was placed in a 0.0M solution, it would swell with
water. Since it has a higher solute concentration on the inside, large amounts
of water would move in, and the cell would become hypertonic to the

solution. If the cell were placed in a 1.0M solution, water would move out of
the cell. The cell would then become hypertonic to the solution, and shrivel
up. In the 0.0M solution, the solution has high water potential while the cell
has low water potential, and vice versa for the 1.0M solution. EX:2.B.2:a1-3

Reflection:
The most important things these artifacts taught us were water
potential, and how cells are structured. A biotic factors tie in to how water
moves in and out and affects cells. I would like to study more about cell
membrane structure, and I still struggle with how to tell if a cell is
hypertonic/hypotonic.
