1. Focus/Bell Work/Hook: how do you plan to get the students attention and focus
on the topic/content?
Students will have a chance to watch The Hunger Games during class
and comment on the friendships they see.
2. Introduction of concept/goals/standards
Students will maintain a writing style on friendship
3. Steps of the lesson: whole group, small group, individual work and
expectations for each step
Students will form groups of two and read the others piece of work.
They will be handed a student revision checklist and checking the article
against the checklist to see if the student has all required information
After student revision is finished they will go back to the computer lab to
finish up the last details
4. Writing:
Students will have a completed article on friendship typed and ready to
be submitted to the school newspaper
5. Assessment: how to you plan to assess if students did accomplish the goals of
the lesson?
Grading the revised and edited form of the article. Check if the students
applied the comments to their pieces.
