Nicholas Marrone Professor Raymond UWRT-1103-E01 lions Changes in Thought My group’s semester-long project is immigration through Ellis Island, My group originally thought of this idea when brainstorming topics to write about for the project that was due at the end of the semester. Ellis Island came up because everyone had their minds on the Family Tree Project. The Family Tree Project was a project about finding and researching more information on your family and ancestors. This project greatly influenced the group to write and talk more about our families and where they came from. As the project progressed, we began to think up new ideas. Just recently a paper was assigned to us where we had to have a discussion vith someone about the topic of your semester-long project. From this lengthy discussion I received more information on how to proceed with the project. Again, another paper was assigned specifically to make the task of writing the semester-long project easier. This paper dealt with the visual aspect of the project. It made our group think about what visuals to include, where to include, and the affects they would have on the audience. This is where one area of the research surprised me. I would have never thought to include things such as immigration charts or tables in the visual presentation. The group was originally just going to show pictures of our ancestors that passed through Ellis Island and pictures of Ellis Island itself. Since the word prompt, the whole visual presentation has been reworked and thought ove ain. Even though Pictuio OL POWATLU - bUt so ONL nor visuals Cus—_ the visual aspect of the project was very surprising and interesting, the writing portion is not. There are currently no surprises in the writing portion.
