Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to learn specific methods for teaching CrossFit to children
and adolescents. Participants learn techniques to overcome the unique challenges of teaching
kids CrossFit methodology, as well as how a CrossFit Kids program can help build one's
affiliate. Other topics covered include neurological development as it relates to exercise, health
and safety, programming, teaching styles, class structure, and kids games. Throughout the
course, participants learn how to pair fitness with fun which is essential in promoting a lifetime
of fitness.
Learning Objectives
The Fitness Course teaches participants to:
1. Pair all aspects of fitness with fun.
2. Identify the primary points of performance of the foundational movements.
3. Teach children how to perform the foundational movements safely.
4. Identify sound vs. unsound movement mechanics when training others, and apply the
appropriate correction.
5. Apply the program safely and effectively, while gaining the experience necessary to
develop competency in training others using other fitness methods.

Course Requirements
Class meets twice per week for 1hr. 30min. In general, the first 5 minutes will be devoted to
stretching. Then the next 30 to 35 minutes will be over gymnastic motions. The remaining class
time will be devoted to reciting new terminology.
Class Participation (30 points)
o All students should wear there workout gear to class every day.
1. Stretching as a group and begin the workout
2. Participation is a very important aspect of this class.
3. Recite new words as you do the gymnastic motions.

Homework is put in a folder and handed to the student at the end of


class there will only be 10 assignments. (20point)

Attendance is VERY IMPORTANT (30 points)


Students will receive water breaks every 30 minutes and they can take a break if they
need it.

Quizzes will be turned in after each class, and handed to them the next day
graded. (10 points)

Registration opens on May 10th and Registration will close May 24th classes fill up quick.
Classes will start on June 1st- June 29th from 9:00am-10:30am or 5:00pm-6:30pm. Kids
will be dropped off in the front of the building then escorted to their classroom. Kids
from all ages are welcomed boys and girls.

Grading Scale
This course is offered for grade only. All assignments will receive written feedback along with
the grade.
There are 100 points available.

A: 90-100 points

B: 80-89 Points

C: 70-79 points

D: 60-69 points

F: 0-59 points
