Lesson Summary:

 The lesson will take place in the classroom as well as the gymnasium. Requiring students to interact
with one another, memorize and be tested on important information, and finally showcase what they
had learned through a physical activity on the final day. This lesson will make sure students are
excelling at all five common standards required by the Ohio Department of Education.

Estimated Duration:

 This lesson will be taught over a course of four days, with each class period lasting 50 minutes. Each
day will be prepping students for the fitness scavenger hunt that will take place. The scavenger hunt
will test students on everything we’ve learned over the course of the week. The final day will reflect
the lesson in a classroom setting.

Commentary:

 I will approach the lesson in a positive, relatable, and fun manner. I will consider that some students
will be more knowledgeable coming into the lesson than others. I will make sure everyone is caught
up and on the same page within the first couple days of the lesson plan. I also realize that some
students don’t enjoy P.E. My goal is to make the classroom a safe and comfortable environment for
everyone, making sure all students are enjoying the period and learning along the way.
Instructional Procedures:

 Taking attendance
 Get students in assigned seat

activity challenge. A teacher assistant will be overviewing each QR code, they will make sure the
team is held accountable for completing the challenge and question.

 Ask what students liked and what they would change. Are they interested in doing it again with
different questions and challenges?
 For homework, students must write paragraph on why physical education is important
Final minutes:
 See what students would like to do next
 Dismiss class

Pre-Assessment:
 On the first day of the lesson students will be required to complete a short and ungraded quiz over the
material. This will allow me to see where everyone stands individually and give me an idea on who
will need more direct help.

Scoring Guidelines:
 The pre-assessment quiz will be self-graded in the class. It will not count as an actual score but allow
me to see which students need more individual help.

Post-Assessment:
 The post assignment is the scavenger hunt. It will show me that the students understand the lesson
mentally and physically.

Scoring Guidelines:
 The scoring will be done on a 1-10 scale. During the scavenger hunt the student must be dressed,
contributing to the questions, and participating in the challenges. If caught not participating, dressed
in street clothes, cursing, or presenting a negative attitude, points will be docked.

Differentiated Instructional Support

 Students that are more physically gifted will be required to complete harder challenges. This will
make it fair for everyone involved. If a student is unable to complete a challenge due to it being too
physically hard (push-ups, sit-ups, etc..) they will receive full credit if they try.

Homework Options and Home Connections

 As a physical education class, I don’t believe homework is critical. But if I were to assign it, I would
make students write short essays on certain sports, exercises, and diets. To involve technology, I
would assign students a video clip to watch and study online. They would then be tested on the
information mentally and physically the next day during class.

Interdisciplinary Connections

 I could integrate the lesson by adding more/different exercises or by adding a completely different
element into the lesson like ball sports, racquet sports, dance, etc.. This would challenge the class
more and help present more valuable information.
