to frighten the audience with jumpy scenes with the

Rom-coms like mean girls follow typical conventional


patterns by using a younger cast and more familiar
settings to teenagers, like schools. Characters in a
modern teen rom-com conventionally follow a
similar pattern, The prize, the hero, the helper and
the villain.
