Operations Experience/Limitations

Gas Plant Column Operations

Columns Top Temperature:
Ambient conditions in Milford refinery are different as compared to Byco. In Milford Ambient
temperature ranges from (10 - 70) F while in Byco (40 - 120) F because of which we have
been facing overhead cooling limitations in Gas plant operations. Due to which heavier ends
carry over in column overhead and inadequate separation efficiency are major issues. To
overcome this issue we intend to operate Gas plant at relatively higher pressures as
compared to Milford.

Inadequate Storage Capacity

In Byco we have been facing limited storage capacity as compared to Milford.
In Milford storage capacities are as follows:
IMPORTED FEEDSTOCK
Crude Oil

2770,000 barrels

Naphtha

540,000 barrels

Atmospheric Residue

295,000 barrels

FINISHED & INTERMEDIATE PRODUCTS

Propane

23,000 barrels

Butane

27,000 barrels

Vacuum Gasoil
Gasoline (Petrol)

565,000 barrels
Blendstock

Finished Gasoline (Petrol)

620,000 barrels
1,040,000 barrels

Gasoil

667,000 barrels

Kerosene

425,000 barrels

In Byco storage capacities are as follows:

IMPORTED FEEDSTOCK
Crude Oil

88, 7847 barrels

FINISHED & INTERMEDIATE PRODUCTS

LPG
Reformate/PMG

7, 530 barrels
12, 982 barrels

Naphtha

1, 72, 426 barrels

Diesel

4, 75, 313 barrels

FO

2, 77, 062 barrels

This limited stock is major obstacle in continuous plant operations at Byco.
