Background of study
Parents and teachers share responsibility for
creating a working relationship for their
children at school.
Family members spend far less time together
and adults often face an on-going struggle to
balance the demands of their families and their
jobs.
While these pressures can cause parents to
participate less in their childrens lives, there
remains a great need for them to be involved in
their childrens education.

in real life situation parents and teachers


have a difficulties to practice effective
communication or encourage any activities.
Sometimes parent with or without realizing it
have put extra expectation on teachers
effort in teaching their children. In other
hand, teacher also has difficulties to create
some partnership with parents.
Teacher doesnt have any ideas to give
some support for parents encouragement
for childrens learning. So that, it become no
effective and the researcher must be find out
about the solutions on the issues.

PROBLEM STATEMENT
The problem is parents who is having
difficulties to have relationship with teacher.
Many parents do not involve any program
at child school
Teacher also face difficulties to build good
relationship with parents and maybe they
have many opinions.
Focus on parents maybe do not have time
to involve or any activities at school not
interested to join.

DEFINITION OF CONCEPT
Parental involvement is a
combination a commitment and
active participation on the part of the
parent to the school and children.
Parents feel unwelcomed at school,
lack knowledge and education and
may not feel that education is
important.

Definition of parents teacher relationship.
The parent teacher partnership is the most
important part in the success of childrens learning
(1) the understanding of the unique elements of
the parents and teachers role and how the
complement each other and
(2) subsequent modifications of their roles
growing out of negotiations that reflect the unique
needs of both parent and teacher. In effective
partnerships, parents and teachers educate each
other during open two-way communication.

TYPES OF PROGRAM
Parent Teacher Association / Persatuan Ibu Bapa
dan Guru ( PIBG )
The partnership between parent and teacher can
be happen in many ways. One of the ways is the
parents involvement in Parents Teacher Association
or in Malaysia it is known as Persatuan Ibu Bapa
Guru (PIBG ).
So the reason is many parents always busy to
attend the PIBG and the time for having an event
cannot suitable for parents and teacher. So that the
encouragement of them become less because of
that problem.

. Involve parents in classroom activities.


Teachers can let families know how they can
be helpful and can ask for their assistance
with specific activities.
Parents can participate by preparing
classroom materials, serving on a committee
to select classroom equipment and materials,
or sharing information about their careers or
hobbies.
The more involved parents are in what goes
on in the classroom, the more likely they are
to understand the teachers goals and
practices.

. Group visits.
Taking field trips to family members
at work/home communicates to
parents that getting to know families
is an important part of the agenda
for the teacher, the school, and the
other children.
The effort of the visit is often
rewarded with additional positive
feelings about the school valuing the
family, and positive feelings from the
child about the importance of her

Social events.
Invite families and school personnel
to get to know each other in a social
setting such as a breakfast event.
The provision of food and child care
promote attendance, since these
make the event less taxing on the
parents and caregivers. Teachers
should look for creative ways to
make the event as useful as possible
to those invited.

Benefit for parents


Parents increase their interaction and discussion
with their children and are more responsive and
sensitive to their children's social, emotional,
and intellectual developmental needs. Parents
are more confident in their parenting and
decision-making skills.
As parents gain more knowledge of child
development, there is more use of affection and
positive reinforcement and less punishment on
their children.Parents have a better
understanding of the teacher's job and school
curriculum.

Benefit for teachers


When schools have a high percentage of
involved parents in and out of schools,
teachers and principals are more likely to
experience higher morale.Teachers and
principals often earn greater respect for
their profession from the parents
.Teachers and principals acquire a better
understanding of families' cultures and
diversity, and they form deeper respect
for parents' abilities and time.
