they want to write
about.

Students will practice

order events that
make up a story

choose one card
they played with
the day prior and
write a short story
about the events
shown on the
card.

story focusing on
the adjectives
they added the
day prior.

Students will learn


when it is appropriate to
transition in their
narratives.

stories and discuss
the events in order.
Week 1 Activity

Students will revise


their first draft by
adding alliterative
adjectives.
Week 2 Activity

Students will brainstorm


ideas (real and
imaginary) for their
story.

Students will learn a


plethora of transition
words so they dont
repeat the same word,
such as next, every
time they transition.

to show versus tell by
using alliterative
adjectives.

Students will
begin their first
draft. They will
have 6 events and
write 2-3
sentences about
each event.
Writing Day
Students will
revise their
second draft by
adding effective
transitions.

show their pictures of
their final narrative to
the class.
