Students will learn the difference between healthy and
unhealthy foods. They will list the healthy foods, and the
unhealthy foods. Students will acquire this knowledge
through the software of Kidspiration.
Michigan Educational Standards
1.1 Distinguish between unhealthy and healthy ways to
manage weight.
Students will cite 10 healthy foods
Students will cite 10 unhealthy foods
Students will recall with the class what
types of foods they eat at home ,that they
think is healthy
Students will get will get on a computer an
do an activity on Kidspiration to
demonstrate their understanding of
healthy and unhealthy foods
Students will describe their understanding
as to why eating healthy is important

1.) Teacher will introduce the subject of healthy
foods using an overhead, talk about why it is
important to eat healthy and ask the students
if they know any
2.) Teacher will read The Very Hungry Caterpillar
to the class
3.) Teacher will use a computer and demonstrate
to the students, how she wants them to use
Kidspiration to test their knowledge
4.) Students will work on the Kidspiration activity
5.) Then students will be given a matching
worksheet to see what they have learned
Students will be assessed based on:
-Kidspiration activity
-matching worksheet
