To: Frederica Academy Parent Council

The Frederica Academy Media Center recently completed an inventory and needs assessment of the

print collection. Although overall the media center is in good shape, there are a few areas of weakness

that were revealed by the collection analysis. The following areas have been identified by the media

specialist:

 Middle School/Upper School History (900’s), particularly ancient history

 Easy non-fiction
 Holiday books

The first two areas of weakness have been addressed over the past year using the LMC budget and book

fair profits. We have purchased $5,500 worth of books for these two sections of our library. The one

area that could not be added to with current funds for this year is that of holiday books for the lower

school. As you make decisions on where to spend the parent council money for this year, we would like

for you to consider supplementing the Frederica Academy holiday book collection in the media center.
