Province of Sorsogon MUNICIPALITY OF STA. MAGDALENA
Office of the Municipal
Mayor September 27, 2013 HON. CATALINA G. LEONON-PIZARRO Representative ABS Partylist SW 406 House of Representatives Constitutional Hills, Quezon City Dear Cong Leonen-Pizarro: My warmest greetings! My town is 5th class, with approximately 17,000 inhabitants. Our main source of income is agriculture, fishing and domestic tourism. Our rich soil, protected marine environment and our blessed white sand beaches facing the Pacific Ocean are our natural riches. We are still one among the many IRA dependent municipalities however, due to delays in infrastructure development long neglected by the higher government in which poor municipalities have long sought for help. Our road system is approximately 25 kilometers of main access and approximately 25 kilometers of farm to market roads(FMR). The main access is 50% concrete while the farm to market roads are approximately 10% with concrete surfacing and the rest are poorly maintained gravel roads. It is my wish as the current Municipal Mayor to alleviate the flight of the impoverished residents of my town, by helping them gain more income from local opportunities as farming and our tourism potentials, but cant access them lacking the basic infrastructures which we are not capable of building. Our income generation will be greatly enhanced and poverty will be reduced should the following basic road network in our town be funded and implemented: 1.
Bgy. San Sebastian to Sta. Isabel , Sta. Magdalena FMR10.00M
2. Sitio Matacla, San Eugenio, Sta. Magdalena FMR 10.00M 3. Sitio Pinalwahan, Bgy. Salvacion, Sta. Magdalena FMR10.00M 4. Sitio Buntay, San Roque, Sta. Magdalena FMR 10.00M Total - Php40.00M It is this wish that drove me to write your office for funding assistance for our critical infrastructures, having asked and have submitted numerous requests to different agencies previously, such as the Dept of Agriculture (DA), National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), etc., but up to this time has not responded positively.
Sirang Sta. Magdalena!!
Hope this request will merit your most precious support.
More power and looking forward to your positive response. Respectfully,
