Mary J. Blige Bliges R&B eventually crossed over to pop in the same way that Elton tried to lean toward R&B at times in his career. 3. Elton John Their flash poured out of Dwight under his stage name Elton John, but it was the genius of Brian Wilson as a songwriter--and the distinctive sound of the Beach Boys--that set the place for Elton as a music creator and seasoned the amazing canon of his work. If needed: 4. the Beach Boys It was Chuck Berrys rock & roll that would form the backbone of the Beach Boys early sound.

Chuck Berry Berry refined and developed rhythm and blues into the major elements that made rock and roll distinctive. 4. Jerry Lee Lewis As an early pioneer of rock and roll music, in 1956 Lewis made his first recordings at Sun Records in Memphis. "Crazy Arms" sold 300,000 copies in the South, but it was his 1957 hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" that shot Lewis to fame worldwide. 5. Madonna She is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. She achieved popularity by pushing the
boundaries of lyrical content in mainstream popular music and imagery in her
