EDIT 6200

OTB1
I completed my second On the Boards assignment last week with Stephen
Bridges. His client is a professor in the program of Counseling and Student
Personnel Services, I believe. The professor has asked Stephen to put together a
course module for her online elc course offering.

Things I liked
First of all, I really liked the overall layout of the online course module. I
thought that the module flowed logically and I especially liked the inclusion of check
list for students to check off activity as they complete each instructional task. I also
thought that embedding the videos with Kaltura was a nice touch; that way
students don't need to navigate to a different page to view the video clips.

Alignment with instructional model

Stephen told me that his instructional design model was ADDIE. The learning
model was either distributed learning or tutorial and the learning theory was
behaviorism. I thought that the project aligns well with these models because he
clearly states his objectives and has students checking off each objective once they
have completed the various activities.

Feedback on usability
As for improvements, we talked about ways to enhance the focus of the
module. Overall, there is a ton of material included in the module, so breaking
things up will be important. I dont think that there is necessarily a way to subdivide

the module even further, or to lessen the load, so to speak, of the content for the
module. Therefore, I would suggest letting users know upfront what their time
commitment might be fore each activity.
