    worseningthewaterqualityisnottheworstthingtohappen.Thelevelsofmetalsintheriver
    duringthespillneverpeakedaboveacutewaterstandardsaccordingtotheNewMexicoofficial
    waterstandardsandEPAdatacollectedfromtheSanJuanRiverduringandafterthespill.To
    haveacriticaleffectonfishlevelsneedtoexceedtheacutestandards.

    themostimportantroleinpolicydecisionsforthisandmanyotherenvironmentaldecisions.

    Scientistshavetheutmostresponsibilityandobligationtocommunicatescientificconceptsand
    datatothepublic.Withoutaninformedpopulacewecannothopetobeanintelligentandlogical
    society.Beinginformedkeepsthepeoplesafeandallowsforeveryonetomakethereown
    decisionsbasedoffofreasoning.Withoutscientistscommunicatinginformationwehavea
    peoplewhoarebeingtoldwhattodowithouttheinformationconcerningwhytheyshoulddoit.
    Webasicallyareatthemercyofscientistswiththeinformationandneedtotrustthattheyhave
    ourbestinterestsinmind.Itcompletelytakesawaytheabilitytomakeindividualdecisions
    whichissomethingwegreatlyvalueintheUnitedStates.

    analyzedataandtocreateawaytopresentittononscientificpeopleinanunderstandableway.I
    alsonowknowhowtoanalyzedatamyselfratherthanrelyingonnewsreportsorscientific
    reports,IcannowbecertainthattheinformationIamreceivingisaccurate.
