Four-year construction project on I-10 in west El Paso. (n.d.). Retrieved
October 31, 2015. The two-year plan has already been heard to had become
a four-year plan. There have been many delays in the construction, which is
known to be finished in the summer of 2019. The main goal of this
construction is to make congestion an ease. The recommended alternate
routes that have been suggested include Transmountain, Paisano, and Mesa
street. These updates were said to be needed desperately due to the fact
that this area was the only area in the highway with non emergency lanes. If
there was to be an accident there is no way to avoid it. This project may be a
build to ease the traffic, but until these four years are over then the traffic
due to this construction will be unbearable.

Construction of I-10 expansion on West Side to take four years. (n.d.).
Retrieved October 31, 2015. There is a $158 million that was set in place to
improve traffic and transportation on I-10 by Sunland Park Drive. This is the
largest project to be done in El Paso. A big part of the funds generated for
this project came from the $10 increase in vehicle registration fees which
was approved back in 2013. With this increase they expect to receive an
amount of almost $30.8 million which helped them earn more of the needed
funds for this project.

Construction overlap could create headaches for I-10, west El Paso. (n.d.).
Retrieved October 31, 2015. One of the big talks here in El Paso is definitely

the construction \going on in the freeway. This is a topic that will definitely be
spoken of for a couple of years. Both of these projects have become a
nightmare for your usual worker. The highways will be closed for certain
periods, due to the fact that the construction has to happen through the
middle of the highway. One of the big problems with this is that while there is
two constructions happening at once, the chances of both constructions
closing roads are very likely. This has created a chaos in the smaller streets
where the people are trying to find alternate routes to go home. While this
project will benefit in the future, this has been one of the biggest traffic
causes here in the city of El Paso.

Loop 375 Border Highway West Extension. (n.d.). Retrieved October 31,
2015. One project recently finished was the improved connectivity on North
Loop 375. This project was a major delay on the east side, while this project
was recently finished a few months ago they are once again creating chaos
on the west side. Will El Paso ever be a neutral city that does not need to
have highway construction every year? I believe that Loop 375 does help
congestion to a certain extent. Unlike last year when the project was
undergoing major restoration, this was the period when traffic was
unbearable. Yes, I will accept the fact that the traffic has died down
drastically now, and it makes travel to the east side much easier, but now
when you are headed the opposite direction you are faced with the same
traffic you saw going towards the east side.
