Project Assessment Memo
On April 10, 2015; El Paso began the expansion of their main highway. This began what many
believe to be the biggest road block in El Paso. Ever since the construction began, traffic
doubled. This has become a serious issue in El Paso due to the fact that this highway is our main
road for transportation. The purpose of my brochure is to address my problem and help me show
the community on how bad this problem has become. In my brochure I will incorporate ethos,
pathos, and logos to help my brochure be more persuasive and informative.
For the ethos portion of my brochure I have to show the facts. I will show pictures demonstrating
how bad the traffic can be, including how bad the accidents that are happening because of the
construction. I will also you very clear and concise vocabulary. Make sure it is written for the
youngest to read it too. I will also be talking about the pros and cons of this community problem.
Right now it may be a huge disturbance to the people, but in reality the construction is happening
to widen our highway to reduce the traffic; such irony.
In the Pathos part of my brochure I will make sure to use pictures that catch the readers
attention. I also will include pictures that show how bad the congestion can be. The fact that
there is no emergency lane is creating a big problem even for our first responder teams. I will use
bold headlines to address the different points I have to explain in the brochure. I also need to use
color that will grasp the readers attention unconsciously. The colors blue, and pink are the best
choices because they grasp your attention in a soothing way without being too alarming.
Logos I will begin my brochure by explaining the problem, ways to address it, and ways the
problem is just impossible to avoid. I will also how people the way we can speak up and help the
process speed up, do to the fact that they are expecting to extend the project instead of shortening
it.
