Shape sort

Students went through the Shape notebook file

and were taught what a side is. The shapes in the
note book file were labelled with how many sides
and corners they had. Students were given an A3
sheet that had headings 3, 4, 5 and 6 sides on it.
Students had to cut and paste shapes into the
section that best suits how many sides they have.

Shape in the Yard

Students have gone through the Shapes in the

environment Notebook file and determined the
shape that can be seen in the image provided.
They then go for a walk in the school yard and find
an object that represents a shape they know.
Students then draw and label the shape and the
object it had been found on.
