Exergaming project: UFC vs Dance central

Ebonie Lewis/ Exs 111/ section 602

INTRODUCTION
In this project we wanted to find a
more fun way of exercising through
the use of video games. Many
people today find it very hard to
stick to the old ways of just going to
the gym and working out every day.
So in this project we wanted to find
alternative ways for people to get
exercising that a fun and exciting
way. 22 students were used to
show the benefits of the games
UFC and dance central. Heart rate,
exhaustion levels and enjoyment
was measured to see how effect
the games were.

METHOD
In this project 22 students were used in
this study. Their height, weight, age and
heart rate were recorded before the
games were played. The most popular
game chosen was dance central 2. a
game where you dance along with the
players on the screen. The data showed
that this game significantly increased
the students heart rate, which is key to
getting in shape. However the UFC
game did the same effect increasing the
students heart rate. However the
increase was not as drastic as when
they played Dance central.

RESULTS
CONCULISON
Result shows the increase in the heart
rate for Dance central.
The results show the heart rate resting
and post game as well as the
enjoyment level.

This study shows and proves that

there are multiple ways to
exercise. This raised the heart
rate of everyone who tried it,
which is the main goal of all
workouts. The students enjoyed it
as well which means people might
be more inclined to do something
they enjoy more often.
