Description:
I worked in the main office with Mrs. Buskirk and met with
students who had excessive absences.

Reflection:
Although I have previously dealt with students who have
excessive absences, I quickly learned that policies have changed
since I worked with these students and parents. On this particular
day, I spoke with each student who had accumulated 10 or more
absences. I learned that many students had obligations at home
that kept them away from school, and I also learned that some
students simply did not feel like getting out of bed early in the
morning. Overall, I felt that the day was beneficial because most
students seemed that they were going to make an attempt to
attend school on a regular basis.
