Job Shadowing Reflection #1

Company Name: Hardwick Elementary School

What the Company Does: Hardwick Elementary school is a public school that is located in

Hardwick, VT. They provide students with the education they need.

Career Field: When I interned at Hardwick Elementary School I worked in the classroom with a

homeroom teacher. I also worked in the gym with students during their physical education time.

Duties and Responsibilities: During my internship, I had to make sure I had classroom plans

made, projects planned, helped students when needed, and was ready to teach a gym class. I had

many small tasks that I needed to complete, which was helping the kids a lot.

Characteristics Needed: To work at Hardwick Elementary School you need to have a lot of

patience, time management, a sense of humor, and good communication skills. This internship

helped me realize that I could help anybody at any time. It made me see how much a teacher

reflects on a students life and thats why you have to be the best one you can be. After my

internship, I did however realize I needed to work on being more patient.

Interested in this Career: If I pursed a job in this career, I would defiantly go into teaching like

I want to do. From being able to work in a classroom it made me more hard headed to get where

I am going and that is to be a teacher.

What I Enjoyed: During my internship I found things I enjoyed and things I didnt enjoy. I

enjoyed working one on one with the kids, and creating projects for them to do. If I got offered
to do this internship, I would defiantly take it again. I learned a lot about being a classroom

teacher, but a lot about myself as well.
