Had 5 children with wife, Edith
Created 5 national parks and used the Antiquities Act
he signed for its special provisions to create 18
national parks
Called for Grand Canyon's protection
Organized 1st volunteer cavalry now known as the
Rough Riders
Charge on foot made Roosevelt biggest national hero
to come out of the Spanish-American War
Inauguration-1901
Last term as president was in March of 1909
Immediately after leaving office he went on a 10month
hunting safari to Africa
Quote-"I'm as strong as a bull moose and you can use
me to the limit."
Died in early January of 1919
