PEER ASSESSMENT:

Introduction: my response gives background information: author, type of poem,


setting and brief summary.
Description: WHAT? WHO? WHERE? WHEN? WHY?
My poetry response describes the style of the poem.
Features: similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia, personification, hyperboles etc.
Themes: imaginings and ideas, and the reason behind the words to justify the use of
simile and metaphor, etc
Patterns: Key events and incidents (more information).
Gives a summary of what happened.
Personal Response: My response describes my feelings about the event and what I
learnt from the experience.
I include my own thoughts and opinions.
Conclusion/ Judgement: my response evaluates the work; it has my opinion, and I
make a recommendation.
LANGUAGE FEATURES
I use a new paragraph for each part.
I use descriptive and evaluative words (interesting, hilarious, dark, exciting, boring,
awful, fantastic)
I used direct quotes from the poem to demonstrate my thinking.
I use words that help me show the order/sequence of events (first, then, later on, after
that, finally)
