1TheLawofSines
Everythingwehavedonesofarhasreliedonrighttriangletrigonometry,in
whichwehaveonerightangle,ahypotenuseandtwolegs.However,notall
trianglesarerighttriangles,sotohandleobliquetriangles(triangleswhich
donotcontainrightangles),wehavetwonewtools:
theLawofSinesandtheLawofCosines.
InthissectionwewilllookattheLawofSines.
GivenatrianglewithanglesA,B,andC,andsidesoppositethem
a,b,andc,respectively,asshownbelow,thefollowingrelationshipshold:

Notethatsincewearenolongerdealingwitharighttriangle,thereisno
hypotenuse,andthusallthetrigratiosarenullandvoid!

TheLawofSines:
Thelawofsinesrequiresthatyouhaveatleastonecorrespondingpair
(angleandsideoppositeit)andoneadditionalsideorangle.
