    Sciencemakesahugeimpactinmanypoliciesintodaysworld.Scienceformsmostoftheworldaroundus,
    forinstance,theSuperfund.TheSuperfundwasanoptionthatwasdebatedforawhile.Afterreviewing
    informationanddataitfinallycametobe.Scienceisusedotherwayswhenmakingpolicieslikewhena
    towndecidestofixaroadorcreateanewone.Thepeoplecometoadecisionbylookatdata.

    Towhatdegreedoscientistshaveanobligationtocommunicatescientificconceptsanddatato
    thepublicinanunderstandablemanner?

    Scientistsareobligatedtogivemeanexplanationtothingsthathappenaroundus.Scienceisthe
    past,presentandfuture.Scienceisthegreateststudytoexistinthehumanworld.Wherewouldwebeasa
    specieswithoutscience?Thepublicisobligatedtoknowabouthowtheworldaroundthemturnsjustas
    muchasthescientistthatdiscovereditourobligatedtotellthem.

    Howhasyourunderstandingofscientificknowledgeand/ortheprocessofdoingscience
    changedthroughoutthesemesterasyouveexaminedandmanipulateddatacollectedby
    professionalscientistsandperformedanalogousexperimentstocollectandanalyzeyourown
    data?

    OverthecourseofthissemestertherehasbeenalotIhavelearnedandcometounderstand.
    WhenfirstcomingintoIexpectedtobegoingoutandcollectingalotofourowndata,whichtoanextentwe
    did,butalotofdatawasprovidedforusfromtheEPA.WithoutthedatatheEPAIlearnedalotaboutthe
    riverandthespillandmyprojectwouldhavenothavecometobewithoutthatdata.
