If you have SUMX board, you can use it with UNB software.
If you don't have SUMX, we need that particular file from R&D server. I am
not
able to access R&D server at China.

always
comes with 2G software from factory. It needs to be converted to 3G if it
needs to
be used for 3G.

The feature is GA since last year and I'm surprised this 3G only path
is not
considered by SC, I might not have global view but I see this AS an issue in
the
delivery that need to be addressed asap (on top of our issue)
to
understand clearly what will be the use of 2G in our 3G only case (target):

Connection will be using same fiber as we have to connect the CCM
(MM /
specification provided already by khedr)? Same port on the RRH (cpri?)
o
2G BTS?
o
Once the AP is completed on 2G side, we will just have to reconnect to
the CCM
and start 3G only I&C?

Please keep in mind a lot of tower sites were RRH should be at 100m
high, so the
fiber position change (2G to 3G BTS) should be done on BTS fiber
end..otherwise

For Etisalat UAE, we have ordered more than 3000 units of 3G U900 MCRRH that
was
translated into below part number (RMXA09 - 3BK28706CB) in our engineering
catalogue.

According to our local technical team and our technical support colleagues,
the
above shipped RMXA09 came only with 2G software from factory whereas we have
ordered it as a 3G U900.
In order to work in 3G (U900), our support is saying that we now need to
visit
each site and upgrade locally a 3G firmware for each RMXA09 that needs to be
converted to 3G.
I will let you imagine the huge workload and hassle we will have to face now
on-site in order to upgrade all shipped RMXA09 (more than 3000 units!!!) in
order
to get the 3G U900 mode!!!!
I urge you to take immediate action to avoid this issue in the future.
The cost of this on-site retrofit will need to be assessed and bared by
WCDMA PU
or SC as a cost of non quality.

Yes, you don't need sumx board however, you need to upgrade all MC-RRH
before
integration.

Commissioner connected the MCRRH to the SUMX & configured the MCRRH to work
for 3G U900 then connected back to Nodeb it is appearing normally with 3G

The key point for MCRRH to work in 3G only mode is the original SW version
(should
be xxc0).
SUMX has the ability to update MCRRH original SW in case the 2G BTS package
include the correct one.
So maybe for some MCRRH which are running in 2G world now, they already have
the
correct version.

configured the MCRRH to work for 3G U900 (how do you configure this?
It's not
The inner action to make MCRRH workable in 3G should be "SUMX update MCRRH
original SW to xxc0".
And this update should happen after MCRRH operational in SUMX side.
The problem is if the 2G side BTS load doesn't include correct MCRRH
original SW,
it won't work.
In summary, if MCRRH's original SW is not xxc0, below two choice are both
OK:

After that, you'd better use swShow to confirm MCRRH load version.
