Curriculum Corner
Bible - This week we will begin Unit 6: Judahs Return. This unit gives students the
opportunity to witness God keeping His promises to His people. Bible Memory due
by Friday Phil 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the
name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and
on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father.
Math - We will review multiplying fractions and move on to multiplying mixed numbers
by mixed numbers. Tuesday we will complete a General Review in preparation for
a MATH QUIZ #7 on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday we will explore probability and
measures with fractions. Students will also complete a DIB.
Spelling and Vocabulary Unit 10 No Spelling Pre-test. Spelling and Vocabulary
Test on Friday.
English We will begin Chapter 5: Action Verbs and Linking Verbs this week. Topics
covered will be action verbs, linking verbs, direct objects, and sentence
patterns. Quiz on Friday.
Reading We will read from our Journeys book and excerpt from, Old Yeller. Students
will focus on parts of the story and character traits. Old Yeller Test on Friday.
History - Students will present group work completed before Christmas. We will also
begin Chapter 8: Hard Times by exploring the Stock Market of the 1920s, Great
Depressions, Loss of Jobs, Dust Bowl and American Resilience.
